=Biography =
Walter is the son of [[Stewart-1001|Robert II Stewart]] and [[Cardny-1|Marion Cardny]]. Entered by Eugene Quigley, Jun 1, 2013
Walter Stewart, married Isabel MacDuff, Countess of Fife., widow of Sir William de Felton, and daughter of Sir Ralph de Monthermer. They had no issue.
Walter Stewart was living 14 August 1362. His widow, Isabel, married (3rd) shortly after 10 Jan. 1363 (as his 2nd wife) Sir Thomas Bisset, They had no issue.
Sir Thomas, Earl of Fife, died before 17 April 1365. His widow, Isabel, married (4th) John De Dunbar. She was living 12 August 1389.
The Earldom of Fife was originally held by the MacDuff family until it passed by resignation to the Stewarts, the earldom ended on the forfeiture and execution of Duke Murdoch in 1425.
The earldom was revived in 1759 with the style of Earl Fife for William Duff, a descendant of the MacDuffs.
His great-great-grandson, the 6th Earl Fife, was made Earl of Fife in 1885 and Duke of Fife in 1889.

Walter Stewart, married [[MacDuff-50|Isabel MacDuff]], Countess of Fife., widow of Sir William de Felton, sometime after 21 September 1358 (when her first husband died). She was the daughter of [[MacDuff-51|Duncan MacDuff]], 10th earl of Fife, and [[Monthermer-8|Mary Monthermer]]. They had no issue.
