McCONNELLSBURG, [Fulton Co.] Pa. - Abbie M. Edwards, 97, of McConnellsburg, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Fulton County (Pa.) Medical Center. Born April 5, 1911, in Big Cove Tannery, [Fulton Co.] Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Frances Frittery Carbaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Edwards, in 1934. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters, Elenora Mooney of Chambersburg, Pa., and Betty Harr and Mary Mumma, both of McConnellsburg; three sons, Carl Edwards and Homer Edwards, both of Chambersburg, and Earl Edwards of Big Cove Tannery; nine grandchildren, including Earl Edwards II whom she raised; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, sisters and brothers. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg. The Rev. Christian Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Ridge Christian Church Cemetery.
