According to Helen's certificate of Death, she is listed as being divorced.Death
Helen J. Bechtel, 80, Jackson-Vine Apartments, died Friday morning at Ball Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Muncie and later lived in South Bend, returning to Muncie about 50 years ago.She had worked for The Muncie Star and Muncie Evening Press in the advertising department for more than 40 years, retiring about 10 years ago.Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Olive Hauck, Muncie; one niece, Mrs. Jack (Joan) Armantrout, Muncie; one great-niece, and one great-nephew.Services will be at Meeks Mortuary at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Daniel Mattox officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary 5-8 p.m. Monday and prior to the services on Tuesday.Endnotes
