Ernest Clayton Harbaugh, 44, Farifield R1, Purple Heart veteran of World war II, died suddenly this morning at 8:30 at the home of Mrs. Gladys Fox, near Fairfield.
Dr. C.G. Crist, county coroner, investigated and said death was due to coronary thrombosis.
Mr. Harbaugh was a machine operator and was employed in Waynesboro. He was a son of the late Allen R and Maudie Eigenbrode Harbaugh. He was inducted May 1, 1942, and discharged October 4. 1945, after winning a Purple Heart and a unit citation. He was wounded in fighting at Minda AFB. He wore the APTO medal.
The deceased was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Waynesboro and of the Fountaindale Fire company.
Surviving are his stepparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles slack, Baltimore; three brothers and sisters, Edgar A., Fairfield R1; Roscoe and Lemvin, both of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Reita Nagle, Fairfield R1.
Funeral services Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Wilson Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Claude Corl officiating. Interment with military rites at St. Jacob's Cemetery.
