Jean Guyon

Jean was part of the first group of pioneers to come to Beauport in 1634. Jean was baptised in the parish of St. Aubin de Tourouvre, and married at St. Jean de Mortagne. He was hired on 14 Mar 1634 by Robert Giffard as a mason. He owned the back concession of a freehold piece of land called DuBuisson in Beauport the 14 Mar 1634. His land was inherited by his son, Jean. He sailed from France on 14 Mar 1634 and arrived in New France on 4 June 1634. His wife and most of his children did not arrive in New France until about a year later. His oldest daughter, Barbe, married to Pierre Paradis, did not arrive in New France until 1652. His godfathers are Jean Collin and Pierre Dolivet, and his godmother is Catherine Goddin. Jean was a farmer, notary & mason.
