NOTE: I have found no other source for the following:
The father of William fought at Kings Mountain, South Carolina in the War of the Revolution. William fought in the Indian Wars and in North Africa in the war against the pirates of the Tripoli States in 1806 and 1807. Received a penison from the general pension law passed by Congress in 1832.
William settled on Turkey Creek in Hardin County, Tennessee where he lived to be quite old and was burried in the Powers (Stricklin) Graveyard on Rogers Creek.
