Subject: Re: John Lowe Lineage
Bill,
Thanks for the Lowe line, you filled in a lot for me, I am adding the following info and corrections:
Gen I : Rebecca Giles married first ---- Wright, second John Lowe and third Thomas Mudd. Isaac GILES of Virginia, Bachelor, made his sister Rebecca wife of John Lowe and next of kin the administrator of his estate. ENGLISH ESTATES OF AMERICAN COLONISTS by Peter Coldham Genealogical Publishing Co Balt MD.
Major John Lowe's Will was filed in St Marys Co.
Gen 3: Not positive that Mary Hawkins was the daughter of Elizabeth (Holland) Wyne, she could have been from his first wife Elianor. Elizabeth Hawkins does not name Mary as a beneficiary in her will.
Elizabeth Lowe and Thomas Dawson's first son was BENONI and their son ROBERT DOYNE married first Sarah Newton Chiswell and had 11 children before he married Hennrietta Lowe and had 3 more.
George Dawson who married Eleanor Lowe was born in PG Co MD in order to be close to his mother. (He chose to be born somewhere in order to be close to his mother? Give me a break!) Brooke County VA is now in WVA. He died in Fayette, Co PA. I will be interested in seeing your sources too. I am descended from both Benoni and Rebecca children of Thomas and Elizabeth Dawson and have much on the entire line. Ris Hopkins

We know that Eleanor Hawkins died in 1681 (Archives of Maryland, Vol 15, p.382)
A deposition was taken June 12, 1755, from Mrs. Mary Lowe, aged seventy four, with regard to the marriage of Eleanor Hawkins (daughter of Henry Hawkins and Eleanor and sister or half-sister to Mary) to Rev. George Tubman.
If the deposition date is accurate (and Mary told the truth), Mary Hawkins Lowe was born in 1681. So it's a toss-up. (whether Eleanor or Elizabeth was Mary Hawkins mother) Eleanor may have died in childbirth, but it's also possible that Mary was born after Henry's quick marriage to Elizabeth Holland Wine about 1682, immediately after the death of Francis Wine. It's a close call either way.
P.S. Where did the middle name 'Ann' appear with regard to Mary Hawkins?
Ann
