Page 438. At the request of Thomas Thompson of CC, planter, the following deed was recorded this Oct 16, 1728.
Sep 9, 1728 from John Jarboe of St Mary's County, planter, to Thomas Thompson of CC, planter, for 4500 lbs of tobacco and for divers other good causes, all that parcel of land, lately in possession of Lucas Matthews, and being the moiety of 300 acres of land formerly taken up by Colo John Jarboe, late of St Mary's County, lying in CC on the east side of Potomack River, and adjoining to the south side of a tract of land whereon sd Thompson now lives called Thompsons Delight, containing and laid out for about 150 acres. Signed - John (I his mark) Jarboe. Wit - Geo Dent*, Anne Dent, W Hutcheson, John Fendall*. This deed was acknowledged by John Jarboe and Mary, his wife.
