Thomas Cissell

Thomas, planter, wrote his will on 4/30/1724 and it was probated in St. Mary's County on 8/24/1724 (18:300). To his son John Cissell he left his dwelling plantation on Beaverdam Run, 350 acres at Chaptico and 50 acres of "White Acres," and all his personal estate. He asked that his son give certain personalty to the children of his brother James, deceased, as they come of age, and to take care of his mother. On 11/16/1724 his son John administered his father's estate which amounted to L161.19.03. The next of kin on his inventory were William Cissell and Matthew Cissell (10:254). Anne, his widow, married secondly Thomas Van Reswick, who then had possession of Thomas Cissell's tracts.
