Terri has Jack’s birth certificate - born on ‘Wli-Elwah Station’, (part of the Lang brothers property at South Hay and close to Lang’s Crossing, where I think they would have crossed the Murrumbidgee, on 10-8-1865.Eli Elwah is a homestead on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River in southwest New South Wales situated about 370km north of Melbourne. Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, is about 580km east of Eli Elwah. Eli Elwah is about 97m above sea level. The nearest sea is the Tasman Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 370km south of Eli Elwah.
The nearest more populous place is the town of Hay which is 13km away with a population of around 2,700 (show me a map with Eli Elwah and Hay).

Text: "OBITUARYMR. JOHN SETTER
The death occurred on Wednesday
at his residence, Wren Street, of Mr.
John Setter. Deceased who was 76
years of age, was born at Hay
(N.SW.). In his early days, Mr.
Setter was a tank sinker. He married
at Richmond in the year 1889 and
accompanied by his wife, Mr. Setter
came to Longreach and took up
carrying, later working on Bimbah
and Darr River Downs for many
years. Mrs. Setter predeceased her
husband six years ago. Mr. Setter is
survived by two sisters, Mrs. B. Cole
man (Wandal, Rockhampton) and
Mrs. H. Whelmn (Rockhampton also
by four daughters and one
son - Mrs. O. Hill, Mrs. J. Roach,
Mrs. A. Searles, Mrs. C. Williams
and Edward John Setter (all of Long-
reach). Thete are 38 grandchildren
and 20 great-grandchildren.
Rev. C. E. Torlach officiated at the
graveside.
He is also survived by two sisters
Mrs. B. Coleman (Wandal, Rock
hampton) and Mrs. H. Whelan
(Rockhampton)."
