OBITUARY MRS. SARAH ANNE SETTER One of the oldest residents of Longreach. Mrs. Sarah Anne Setter (died in the Longreach Hospital on Friday of last week after three weeks' illness. Mrs. Setter was 76 years of age and was born in Roma and married the late Mr. Charles William Setter in 1886 in Jericho. The young couple arrived at Muttaburra where their first two children--Janet and William Henry were born. Janet was bitten by a snake and passed away. This sad incident occurred on the Tallyrand country. Together the late Mr. Setter, brothers and brothers-in-law followed the occupation of fencers. In later years they were carriers. Mrs. Setter travelled on the roads with her husband and younger children, in the old fashioned tip dray, and had many pioneering experiences. The late Mr. and Mrs. Setter after leaving the Muttaburra district resided in Longreaceh for 52 years. On their arrival in Longreach, the town was a very small one and they watched it grow from a few small buildings to a township. Deceased is survived by six children--William Henry, Mrs. K. Mulholland, Arthur Roy (Longreach), Mrs. T. Palethorpe (Cloncurry), Mrs. C. Flanagan and Mrs.F Moger (Longreach). There are twenty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
