Patricia "Pat" L. Breniman
Patricia "Pat" L. Breiniman, 76, passed away June 20, 200\, at her home in Fort Collins.
Her remains will be scattered over the Pawneee National Grasslands. No memorial services are planned.
Pat was born June 26, 1931, to Maymie Day Mason and William Mason in Alamosa, the hub of the San Luis Valley. Life was very difficult after the death of her father at an early age. Memories of her mother, two sisters (June and Jo) and three brothers (Ted ,Rex and Bill) living in the 1930s and '40s were passed on to the future generations.
She married Frank Breniman in Taos, N. M., on May 15, 1949. In Fort Collins they continued the building of the pioneer designated homestead working the dairy farm. She was a multi-talented woman who delivered calves, ran machinery and lived dawn to dusk accomplishing all that it took to meet the superior standards of running a dairy farm. She was a lifetime Colorado resident who befriended and helped those who came into her life. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, gambling and loved animals, tame or wild. This was evidenced by the adoption of two wild burros, Heetie and Hush in 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Herman (Mike) and Dian Tamura (Bob); three granddaughters, Jodie, Marcie and Jackie; two great grandsons, Kyle and Payton; nieces, Linda Spraitzer, Moria Rodick and Peggy Olson and Theresa Buderus, and other numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Frankie; parents, sisters and brothers.
Memorial contributions may be mad to Larimer County Humane Society or to Colorado Horse Rescue in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.

Fort Collins Coloradoan (Fort Collins, CO), 10 Jan 1974, p. 11.There's been a Breniman there since '94
Part of the development of a once predominantly farming community into a city is the sale of area farms to firms which will eventually subdivide them for homes or turn them into business property.
The patter has been repeated many times with the rapid growth of Fort Collins. A recent example is a farm which had been the home of one family since the end of the 19th century.
For the first time since 1894 a member of the pioneer Breniman family is not an owner of the 160-acre farm on North County Rad 9E.
The first Breniman to own the property three miles east of Fort Collins was the late Frank P. Breniman, who bought the farm in 1894 after coming here from Brooklyn, Iowa. Their son, Clifton, was born and raised on the farm.
Clifton's widow still lives in a small farm house on the land. A two-story house moved to the property in 1913 is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Breiniman, who bought the property in 1964 from heirs of his grandparents, Frank P. and Minnie S. Breniman.
The present Frank Brenimans, who have sold the property to the Lincoln Land Acquisition Corp. of Denver will continue to live there for the present. Their son, Frank Jr., operated a dairy farm there with them until the family sold the dairy business about three years ago.
The future? It is a question mark for the Brenimans and the property - except that the couple will continue to live in the Fort Collins area.
