"Gracie Lee Brooke - Grosvenor graduate - BANGS ... Gracie Lee Brooke, 84, died Saturday at a Brownwood nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Allen and Bobby Weathers officiating. Burial will be in Bangs Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Mrs. Brooke was born in Comanche County and graduated from high school in Grosvenor. She had lived in Brown County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Joe Brooke in 1936 in Coleman County. Survivors include her husband, of Santa Anna; one daughter, Charlsie Richardson of Cross Cut; one son, Johnnie Brooke of Bangs; one brother, Emmitt Terry of Wautaga; two sisters, Fontella Knight of San Angelo and Bonnie Young of Temple; nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today." (The Abilene Reporter News, Abilene, Texas, August 30, 1999.)
