Grover Cleveland Greer

Grover Cleveland Greer was born near Grassy Creek, NC where he remained until 1913 when he removed to Harford Co, MD and acquired large land holdings, operating extensive farming in its modern concept. In addition, he was an important transportation executive, owning The Greer Lines Company and The Greer Transportation Company, doing a transport business between Harford Co and Washington, DC. He was a Presbyterian, being a trustee of the Bel Air Presbyterian Church, a Mason, a Rotarian, a member of the Country Club of Maryland, was a Director of the Maryland - Virginia Milk Producers Association, Inc for twenty-one years (1931 - 1952) and was a charter member of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Bel Air. He was a man of fine character and distinguished appearance, standing 5' 10", black hair silvered with gray, hazel eyes - a fine looking man with a posture and physique of which any man of thirty would be proud.
