Helen Ruth Hatcher

"Helen R. Hatcher Vaught of The Lake of Egypt, formerly of Eldorado, Illinois passed away at 12:55 PM on Wednesday, August 18, 1999 in Marion Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born on August 27, 1911 in Enfield, Illinois to the late William Allen "Toby" Hatcher and Ethel Gulledge Hatcher. Helen was long associated with the Federal Wholesale Corporation in Eldorado, Illinois. She started working there in 1930 as a clerk after graduating from Eldorado High School. She retired in 1981 as the head of the Purchasing Department. On June 28, 1932, she married Norman A. "Hen Egg" Vaught in Golconda, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1987. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Marilyn and Lonnie Young of The Lake of Egypt, with whom she had made her home since 1996. Also surviving is her grandson and wife, John "Joey" and Lisa Bouvet of Secor, Illinois; a great-grandson, Jon Bouvet, also of Secor, Illinois; two step-grandsons, Lance Young of Denver, Colorado and Brad Young of Carbondale, Illinois; a great-stepgrandson, Anthony Fenton of Secor, Illinois; two sisters, Clara Metz of Elgin, Illinois and Irene Stull of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Woodrow Hatcher of Gulf Breeze, Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Hatcher and Max Hatcher and nephews, Jack Long and Bill Stull. Services were held at 1 PM, Saturday, August 21, 1999 at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, Illinois with the Rev. Arthur Watson officiating. Visitation was held on Friday, August 20, 1999 at the funeral home. Burial was in the Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado, Illinois. We have been blessed to have known and loved her."
