"John Judy (1760 - 1840), served in the artillery in Virginia. He was born in Switzerland; married in Kentucky; removed to Ohio, 1794, where he died in Union County. Wife: Phebe Lamaster, married 1784." (National No. 40081, D. A. R. Lineage Book Vol. XLI, 1902, page 29.)
John Judy, Sr. is buried in a private Judy Cemetery, which was on his property at the time of his death. It is located off 21470 Raymond Road, south of Peoria, Liberty Township, Union County, Ohio. The cemetery is located at the southeast corner of the intersection with Wheeler Green Road. To get to it, go through a weedy, unmowed field and it is on a bluff above Mill Creek.
