22 DEC 1746 Orange Co., VA (Will Written) Thomas WATTS of St. Thomas Parish, Culpeper Co., VA, planter, wrote his wi ll. "In sound and perfect health of mind." Wills that his wife Esther "sha ll live on the plantation I now live on," and have (100?) acres adjoini ng with timber and wood for the use of the plantation during her widowhoo d. At the time of her death or day of marriage, the plantation to "retu rn to them as shall be hereafter mentioned." Gives to son Edward WATTS the plantation "he now lives on with the tra ct of land thereto belonging estimated at 200 acres."

Gives to son John WATTS the plantation "he now is possessed with the lan ds bounded accordingly estimated 200 acres."

Gives to son Benj. WATTS the plantation called the schoolhouse, with the t ract of land bounded on Jas. Barbour and John WATTS, so up to the Great Br anch, including the land between these bounds, and Bland Ballards line, es timated 200 acres.

Gives to son Thomas WATTS the plantation known as John Stone's plantati on with the tract of land adjoining containing about (185?) acres, bound ed by Bland Ballard, Jas. Barbour and Dixon.

Gives to son Jacob WATTS (150?) acres bounded between Bland Ballard and Be njamin WATTS.

Gives to daughter Sarah WATTS 150 acres bounded between James Barbour, Jos eph Rogers, and Dixon.

After his wife's death or marriage, the plantation "I now live on" with ad joining land bounded on the River and running to Benjamin Cave's line on t he River, then along Capt. Benjamin Cave's line to "my back line so f ar as to include 100 acres" he gives to son William WATTS.

Gives to daughter Esther WATTS 100 acres bounded between the Manor plantat ion and John WATTS. After his death, his still to be used by his wife duri ng her widowhood, and son Edward, daughter Ann, son John, daughter Elizabe th, son Benjamin, son Thomas, daughter Sarah, son Jacob, daughter Esthe r, daughter Mary, son William, daughter (Frances?) to share in the use a nd income of the still.

Appoints sons John WATTS and Benjamin WATTS executors. Wits. Robert Sherman, William Twyman, George Twyman.
