1850 Monroe County, Virginia census, page 461-462, #735: taken 17 Sept 1850: Greer Dillon did not appear on the 1850 census with the rest of his family, so apparently he died before that time. Lucinda DILLON, age 45. Asa DILLON, age 22. Wright DILLON, age 19. Jane DILLON, age 17. Polly DILLON, age 13. George DILLON, age 17. Henderson DILLON, age 13. William DILLON, age 9.
Lucinda, age 45, is listed as a head of household. She had the following children listed, Asa 22, Wright 19, Wilson 17, Mary 13, Henderson 13, and Wm. age 9, all of which claimed Virginia birth. One boy listed as 10-14 in 1840 is missing, one possibility is Ansulum, who is listed in 1850 as a newlywed. Lucinda and Asa were not listed as illiterate this year, although this was likely an omission. Mary, Wilson, Henderson, and Wm. had attended school in the past year. Asa, Wright, and Wilson were listed as laborers. Presumed neighbors were Lorenzo and Sarah Harvey as well as John and Nancy Swope. Both neighbors were farmers. John Swope had a very large farm, perhaps the boys had been working for him since the death of their father. (John Swope was 53 at this time, and lived on his fathers old homestead He was the son of Michael Swope, who was born Sept 29, 1753 on Wolf Creek, and is believed to be the first white child born in the county, if not the southern part of West Virginia.)

1870 Monroe County, West Virginia census: Lucy Dillon was living with her daughter Lucy and her husband James Meadows and claimed to be 70 years old.
