"Judith Greer was born on December the 30 1827. Wm C. Greer & Jane Grifith was marryed Dec 7th 1843 also Edward Grifith & Judith L. Greer at the Saim Time." "December 13, 1843 - Married on Thursday evening last, in Tippah County, near Cornersville, by the Rev. E. Barbee, Mr. Wm. C. Greer to Miss Jane I. Griffith, eldest daughter of Ralph Griffith, Esq. At the same time and place, Mr. Wm. Norwood to Miss Indiana Griffith, eldest daughter of Edward Griffith. Also, at the same time and place, Mr. Edward Griffith, Jr. to Miss Judith L. Greer." "The date of these marriages was December 7, 1843, according to Stephen Greer's Bible. Several sources show the date to be December 13 or December 15. I suppose this arose from using the date of the printed material. The above article does not name the father of Edward Griffith, Jr. -- leaving one to speculate that he was the son of either the father named Ralph or the father named Edward. From other material I have gathered concerning the migration of the family of Stephen Greer and Ralph Griffith, I am convinced that Edward Griffith who married Judith Greer was the son of Ralph Griffith -- thus he and Jane I. Griffith were siblings, as were Judith and Wm. C. Greer. Also, this Edward Griffith named his only child Ralph." (Olive Ruth Nabors, 704 Avondale, Bryan, Texas 77802-1103, August 1998.)
