Joy Beatrice Martin

"When Beatrice was quite young she moved with her family to Wellington, Collingsworth County, Texas where she received her education. In 1941 she married James Euclid Britt. He was a salesman who was drafted into the Army early in 1942. He lost an eye in the service and was discharged in 1943. He had a difficult time adjusting and the couple separated and finally obtained a divorce 19 August 1947. There were no issues from this marriage. Beatrice married John Albert Price in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada on 4 October 1947. John was born 21 Apr 1909 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He worked for twenty years for Douglas Oil Company, a branch of Standard Oil. He was a member of the Garden Grove, California Elks Club. He and Beatrice were active in the club and she went through all the Chairs.
"After retirement, John and Bea moved to Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon. John died there 6 November 1977 and was buried in a private burial at Lincoln Memorial Park. John had five children from a previous marriage and Beatrice raised the three youngest children after she and John married. These five children were: Warren Price, Jacklyn Price, Delpha Mae Price, Delmer Lou Price, Lynne Price.
"After John's death, Beatrice moved back to California and spent her last years there. She died 24 August 1988 at age 72, in the Olivewood Convalescent Center in Colton, California. As was her desire, she was buried beside John in Lincoln Memorial Park (Glenhaven Section, Lot 770, graves 1 and 2) in Oregon. Her Social Security number was 525-22-4642." (Reta M.
