Capt. Holman Felix Simmons

(January 10, 1824 - March 30, 1893)

"Holman Felix Simmons migrated early in his life to Florida with his wife Mary Theodora Saxon of Autauga County, Alabama, and they became early pioneers of Florida's new Hernando County. In 1862 he formed his own company of Confederate Soldiers and was Captain of Co. F, 8th Florida Infantry, during the Civil War. Before forming his own company he had belonged to the 3rd Florida Infantry, Co. C, (Hernando Guards) whose Captain was Walter Terry Saxon, his brother-in-law."
