"Funeral services for Lila Oma Morris, 90, of De Leon were held Wednesday, February 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the De Leon First United Methodist Church with Brother Joseph McAfee officiating. Music was furnished by Marvin Holdridge, Ruby Pair, Pearl Bailey, Al Strasner, and Gladys Holdridge. Pallbearers were John T. Singleton, Dale George, Larry Womack, Lee Roy Wheat, Charles Morgan, and L. V. Park. Burial was in the De Leon Cemetery under the direction of Nowlin Funeral Home. Mrs. Morris passed away on Monday, February 11, 1985, at 12:00 noon in the De Leon Hospital after a brief illness. She was born October 20, 1894, in Comanche County to the late William Grer and Lucy Chambers Greer. She was married to Charlie Morris in 1914. He preceded her in death May 6, 1965. She was a member of the De Leon First United Methodist Church and had lived in the De Leon area most of her life. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mrs. Marshall Greer of Plainview, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall Greer and Thomas Greer."
