"Funeral services for Jessie Victor Hawley, 63 of San Augustine will be held at 10am Friday, Dec 27 at the Ora Pentecostal Church of Zavalla with Bro. Bud Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery in Angelina County. Mr. Hawley was born April 7, 1939 in Matador, Texas and died Dec. 25, 2002 in a nursing home in San Augustine. He was a logger-truck driver and a member of the U.S. Marines. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan and Kathy Hawley, Michael and Kristi Hawley and Jessie Keith and Kim Hawley; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Mike Forrest; sisters, Barbara, Jeannie, Madeline, Cleoda and Rene'; brothers, Cecil, Clarence, Dennis and O.C. Jr.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren." (Obituary.)
