Tyree Harris, Sr. was a High sheriff of Orange County, North Carolina.

"In his will, made 1 Sep 1786 and recorded in Caswell County North Caroli na will book B-162, Tyree named as executors his son Tyree and his son Si mpson as well as his son-in-law, Cornelius Dabney. His children were Nancy Abercrombie; Frances, wife of Cornelius Dabney; sons Tyree, Simpson, Robert (to receive land in Rockingham County on Little Troublesome Cr.) Other daughters were Ede Harris (wife of Duke Williams), Liddy Harris. He named a grandson William Chapman Abercromby. His son, Christopher, to whom Tyree left land in Rockingham on High Rock Creek (Kendall, Katharine Kerr: Caswell County North Carolina Exec: son Tyree and son Simpson and son-in-law Corneliuss Dabney Wit: John Jones, Jesse Oldham" (Will Book B, Page162 Will.)
