17 AUG 1992 By Harold W. Rowland I am not convinced that this is the daughter of William E. Rowland, at least not this William E. Reason: (1) Listed in the 1860 Pope County, Independence twp, AR census in the residence of William E. as Mary F. 9 years old (1851) born AR not NC. (2) The notes under Nancy C. Rowland (Rin:721) indicates she was listed as 26 (1854) year old sister to Mary Magdeline (sister-in-law to John Lipe) in the 1880 census. Also the Pope County marriage records 1860-1892 indicate on 6 FEB 1883 N. C. Rowland (28) (1855) married I. W. Hatley. The 1860 Pope Co., Independence twp, AR census lists a 15 (1845) year old daughter Nancy born AR in the residence of William E. Rowland.
