"Funeral for R. Q. Jones, 78 of Mergargel will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from The United Methodist Church at Mergargel with The Rev. Averitt Cockrell of Vernon, Texas officiating. He will be assisted by Harven McQueen, Church of Christ minister from Mergargel. Burial will be in Mergargel Cemetery under The direction of Lunn Funeral Home. A long time resident of The Mergargel area, Jones was born January 3, 1891, in Johnson County, Texas. He died Sunday morning in an Olney Hospital after a short illness. Survivors include a son, Rance of Baldwin, Missouri, a sister, Mrs. Maggie Sidwell of Texline, Tex. and two grandchildren. Roger was born January 3, 1891, Chalk Hills, Erath County, Texas. Moved to Salem, Young County, Texas at age 2 or 3. Moved to Baylor County at age 6. Moved in Dec. 1987 to Round Timber, Texas. Married 1914 and lived in Western and Round Timber.
