"State of Arkansas, County of Clark. In the Probate Court July 29th A.D. 1925. I, Willie Walters, now making application for Letters of Administration on the estate of Mrs. Jane Langly, who died intestate about Dec the 24th 1924, do solemnly swear, that to the best of my knowledge and belief, the value of the estate of Mrs. Jane Langly late of Vaden in the County aforesaid, deceased, is about $60.00 ... Willie Walters (His X Mark). 30 July 1925." (Application for Letters of Administration, Probate packets, County Clerk's Office, Arkadelphia, Clark County, Arkansas.)

"We are sorry to announce the death of Grandma Langley, who has been living near Chidester. The funeral services were held at the Easly Cemetery Monday afternoon. She was up in the 80's and was loved by all who knew her (Herbron)." (News items from the SOUTHERN STANDARD, February 19, 1925. Monday was February 16, 1925. NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: This appears to be Grandma Sam Langley ... I don't know why Willie Walters give her date of death as 24 December 1924, if she died 16 February 1925. Maybe he couldn't remember. When I put a stone at her grave in the early 1990's, I put 24 Dec 1924, as that was the best date we had at that time, however it appears that she died on 16 February 1925, possibly in Ouachita County, Arkansas.)
