Hugh Wolcott Expires; Former Climax Resident. Hugh Wolcott, son of Hiram and Mary Wolcott, was born in Pavilion township December 28, 1847, was one of ten children. In 1869, he was married to Emily Pierce, who passed away in 1898. He spent the greater part of his life in and around Climax leaving here about eight years ago making his home with his son and daughter since that time. He passed away at Epworth hospital in South Bend, Indiana, January 7. Surviving are one son William H. of Berrien Springs; two daughters Mrs. Belle Schriener of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Bernice Herreman of South Bend, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren; and one sister Mrs. Samuel Sherman of Fulton, beside several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Vickers Funeral Home in Climax, Tuesday at 3:30 with burial in Prairie Home Cemetery. Rev. Freeman officiating. The Climax Crescent Jan 13, 1933 page 1.
