Joseph Tyson Styer Jr.
(22 May 1826 - 28 Jul 1871)
Donated a small portion of his land in Taylor Township in Union Co. for a combination methodist church and Styer schoolhouse, just south of Claibourne, Ohio. The church was later moved up the road closer to Claibourne. It is now the Claibourne United Methodist Church. It still stands as of 2008.He was kicked in chest by a horse the day before and died from his injuries.
