Howard Benard White, age 84, of Hensley, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. He was born August 4, 1933 in Benton, Arkansas. Howard was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a set-up machinist for Teletype and was owner & operator of White’s Custom Cabinet Shop. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Norine Steele White and six siblings, Leon White, Alta Lee Spann, Helen Watts, Winfred White, Johnny White and Jimmy White.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Joyce Spann White of Hensley; two sons, Michael White (Gail) of Hensley and Shawn White (Wyndelyn) of Benton; sister, Pat Jenkins (Leon) of Malvern; five grandchildren, Amanda White Main (Brandon), Timothy White (Lindsey), Adam White, Rachel White Dodson (Josh) and Phillip White and four great-grandchildren, Weston White, Ruston White, Issac Main and Ella Grace Dodson.
Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery. Dr. Paul Carter will be officiating.
