Funeral services for Betty Joy Benier, 81, born October 18, 1934, of Anniston, was on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Her grandson, Rev. Robby Joplin officiated. She passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Noland Hospital- RMC. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Benier; daughter, Milly Baker (Bob); sister, Jo Greenough of Round Rock TX; grandchildren, Robby Joplin (Crystal), Robert Baker II, Brooke Lee (Jason), Judah Baker (Kristina), and Kelsey Martz (Matt); great-grandchildren, Luke Joplin, Eli Joplin, Jude Joplin, Mason Baker, Grant Baker, Margeaux Baker, Lauryn Grace Lee, Noah Lee, and Karlie Martz; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Benier is preceded in death by her grandson, Austin Joplin; parents, Virgil and Betty Ann Allen; brothers, Jack R Nixon and William "Bud" Allen; sister-in-law, Mildred Nixon. She was a proud native of Texas and a resident of Calhoun County. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Civil Service V.A. Hospital.
