William Leslie Rice, Jr., 84, of Wichita Falls, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Wichita Falls.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Stewart Wright and Rev. Harvey McMurry, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
A son of the late William and Lillian (Dillingham) Rice, he was born on July 4, 1927 in Wichita County, Texas. He served our country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII. He later retired as Owner & Operator of Rice Blind & Screen Company. He was a member of City View Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Jean Rice; and his son, Stephen Rice.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Chancellor and husband Jerry of Wichita Falls, and Pamela Harper and husband Bobby of Duncan, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Nancy Clark and husband Dalton; step-son, Bradley Peacock all of Wichita Falls; his sister, Wilma Spires of Lawton, Oklahoma; a brother, David Rice of Electra; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
