Vernon Cain Moore Jr.

V C Moore passed peacefully from this world to his new home Sunday morning in Wichita Falls, Texas at age 89.
Family visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday February 9, 2017, at Lunns Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will immediately following Lunn’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. The graveside will be held at the Burkburnett cemetery following the funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
V C was born March 19, 1928, to Vernon and Mildred Moore of Iowa Park, Texas. He married his wife, Lois on December 18, 1949. He worked for Wilson Manufacturing Co. in Wichita Falls for several years where was fondly call “Blackie�? He started Moore Pump and Machine, a family run pump service company where he trained his kids in the oilfield and was well respected by his many loyal customers. After retiring from the oilfield he continued his life-long joy of farming with Moore Farms. V C was also a proud Navy veteran and enjoyed telling his stories of his time in service.
V C was preceded in death by his parent; two brothers, Don and Jim; and two sisters, Wanda and Harriett. Surviving relatives include his beloved wife of sixty eight years, He married his wife, Lois Myrle Kee on December 18, 1949; three sons and their wives, Terry and Terrie Moore of Wichita Falls, TX, Doug and Deneice Moore of Wichita Falls, TX and Darrell and Paula Moore also of Wichita Falls, TX; and one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Jeremy Lucas of Wichita Falls, TX. Seven grandchildren: Brennan, Justin, Adam, Blake, Magan, Colton and Makenzie and eight great grandchildren: Brenna, Sarah, Tabytha, Brysen, Tucker, Noah, Makayla and Kaizlyn. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
V C was a “simple man�?who loved and appreciated the simple blessings of life the Lord had given him-Love God, family, friends, country and the precious land he loved to look at through his picture window.
The family respectfully would ask that family and friends might consider in lieu of flowers that you donate that offering to Hospice of Wichita Falls. V C was loved and “pampered�?by these angels for over 2 years.
