Tuscaloosa - Herbert J. Ward, age 84, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on May 10, 2007, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
His parents, H.B. Ward and Lula Ward; his brother, Wallace Ward; and his sister, Mildred Booker, preceded him in death.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ora S. Ward of Tuscaloosa, brothers, Hugh B. (Grace) Ward, Jack W. (Estelle) Ward, and Alfred E. (Mary Anna) Ward, all of Cottondale, numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Ward is also survived by his faithful and loving companions Sadie and Norman.
Mr. Ward was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry S.J., USA and Cahaba Shriners of Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Ward retired after more than 33 years of employment at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville and was an elder at Central Presbyterian Church of Huntsville.
