Grover Carlton Kirkland

usband of Lessie Mae Collins Kirkland. Grover served his country well. He saw service in the second world war in Germany, came home and later changed service to the Air Force and when his time was up he retired from the Air Force.

Services will be conducted at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel 601, Highway 80 East Bossier City-Haughton for Senior Master Sergeant Grover Carlton Kirkland, 73 of Bossier City, Friday August 21, 1992 at 2:00 P.M.. Officiating will be Brother Jim Nunnelee of Bellairre Baptist Church, where Mr. Kirkland was a member, interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Kirkland entered into rest Tuesday at Willis Knighton Medical Center, after a lenghty illness. He was born in Madison Florida, Madison County, on March 11, 1919. He was a native of the Lakeland Florida area and resided in Bossier City since 1970 He retired from the USAF as a Senior Master Sergent after 30 years of service.
Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his parents William Perman Kirkland and Mother Callie Zipperer (Kirkland) and brothers William Edward Kirkland, Marvin Eugene Kirkland, and Kenneth Cleon Kirkland.
His survivors include his wife of 49 years, Lessie Mae Kirkland, four daughters, Jacqueline Kirkland (Brown), and her husband Roy Brown of Northport, Alabama, Glenda Faye Kirklsand of Bossier City, Cheri Kirkland (Revors) of Detroit Michigan, Penelope Kirkland (White) and her husband Francis White of Bossier City, two sisters, Letha Mae Kirkland (Blake) of New York City, Ludie Lee Kirkland (Welch) of Winter Haven Florida, two brothers, James Roland Kirkland Of Columbus Georgia, William Perman Kirkland Jr. of Lakeland Florida. Four grandsons Roy Carlton Brown and Darrell Austen Brown of Northport Alabama.Michael Christopher Vigneau of Nantuckett Island Michigan, Bryan Kirkland Christopher White of Bossier City. One great grandson Blake Carlton Brown of Northport Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roy C. Brown, Darrell A. Brown, Greg Tingle, Tony Tingle, James Mouton and Bobby Youngblood..
