BOSSIER CITY, LA- Mrs. Kirkland entered in to rest on Sunday at Grace Home Hospice after a lengthy illness. Funeral Services will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, Tuesday August 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
She was born in Winn Parish on July 21, 1927 and has resided in Bossier City, LA since 1970. Being a military spouse she traveled throughout the United States and overseas while raising four daughters and tending to her spouse of 49 years Senior Master Sargent Grover C. Kirkland.
Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her parents Willie Lee Collins and Blanche Alice Collins and her spouse Grover C. Kirkland.
Her survivors include four daughters, Jacqueline Kirkland Brown and her spouse Roy of Northport, AL, Glenda Faye Kirkland of Haughton, LA, Cheri Kirkland Revers and her spouse Craig of Detroit, MI and Penelope (Penny) Kirkland White and her spouse Francis of Bossier City, LA; two sisters, Margie Ann Clark of Lafayette, LA and Betty Sue Tingle of Shreveport, LA; four grandsons, Roy Carlton Brown and Darrell Austen Brown of Northport, AL, Michael Christopher Vigneau of Nantuckett Is. MI and Bryan Kirkland Christopher White of Baton Rouge, LA; four great grandchildren, Blake Carlton Brown, Casey Taylor, Cajun Austen Brown and Maggi Ann Brown of Northport, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
