Thurman Ray Holt, 60, of Newport, died Monday, June 24 in a Little Rock hospital. He was born August 30, 1924 in Tuckerman, Arkansas. He was a member of the Tuckerman Church of Christ and a WW II Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was also a self-employed farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Eliabeth (Ensley) Holt of the home; two sons, Ray Holt, Jr. of Tuckerman and Sidney Holt of Newport; two daughters, Mary Lou Chamblis and Ginger Pollard, both of Newport; three sisters, Pearl Seward of Tuckerman, Olgia Dotson of Centerville, Tennessee and Pauline Merfeld of Stanwood, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 27, 1985 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Tuckerman. Burial was in the Cheshier Cemetery, near Tuckerman.
