Elizabeth May Holt, 91, of Newport departed this life Sunday, June 3, 2018. She was born September 18, 1926 to Charlie and Nellie (Martin) Ensley.
Mrs. Holt was a member of the Tuckerman Church of Christ she believed you had to live your life with good morals. She loved church activities, potlucks at the Senior citizen building, she was a homemaker, worked at White River Area on Aging taking care of families, she worked the voting polls up to 2010. She loved to sew, working in the yard, gardening and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty years; Thurman Ray Holt, son; Ray Holt Jr., grandson; Jeremy Pollard, son-in-law; Jerry Pollard, brother; Jimmy Lee Ensley, two sisters; Norean Richardson and Susie Mae Ensley.
Her survivors are son; Sidney Holt (Cathy) of Tuckerman, daughters; Mary Chambliss (David) of Tuckerman, Ginger Pollard of Newport, daughter-in-law; Margaret Holt of Tuckerman seven grandchildren; Shari Roberts, Randy Holt, Wendy Ellis, Chad Chambliss, Shad Chambliss, Teresa Francis, Tanya Emory, twelve great grandchildren, seven great- great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Tuckerman Church of Church.
Burial will be in Cheshier Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dierksen Hospice and to the nurses Tara and Kim.
