The only Ivory of the correct age and New York birth to be the William H. who married at age 28 Frances Rheinhagen in Tuolumne County, California is this Herbert Ivory, son of Jonas. Any Ivory named "Herbert" disappears as soon as he leaves home.
In 1873 William H. appears as a resident of Chinese camp when he married Frances.
In December 1881 he is buying land from Mrs. Samuel Sherman.
Tuolumne County Great Register of Voters 1890. Page 12 states William H. Ivory, 44 born in New York, resident of Chinese Camp is on the register 22 Aug. 1888.
