Born Jan. 16, 1934, in Dickson, to Roy and Theo Henderson Watson, he died Jan. 28, 2004, at the local hospital.
A lifelong resident of Ardmore, he retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company and was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He was a faithful Christian, a former deacon at K Street Baptist Church, and an active member of Southwest Baptist Church.
He and Marie Allen were married on Dec. 24, 1954, in Dickson.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Steven Watson and his wife, Denise, Ardmore; a daughter, Janet Biddick and her husband, Matthew, Norman; two sisters, Blanche Smith and her husband, Dale, Ardmore, and Ruth Alice Holder and her husband, Don, Lake Kiowa, Texas; special friends, Emily Biddick, USMA, West Point, N.Y., Drew Biddick and Morgan Biddick, Norman, Ashlee Watson, Ardmore; and stepgrandson, John Owen, Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be Warren Sullivan, Don Stewart, Jim Michael, Herb Upchurch, James Latham and Bill Butler. Honorary bearers are Charlie Mills and the McDonald's coffee bunch.
