Funeral services for Marie Ethel Watson, 83, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
The daughter of the late John Allen and Della (Blankenship) Allen, Marie was born on January 22, 1934 in Dickson, Oklahoma and passed away with family by her side on January 2, 2018.
She and Wayland Watson were married December 24, 1955. He preceded her in death.
A life-long resident of Ardmore, Marie graduated from Dickson High School. Marie began working at Texoma Office Supply in sales, a career that lasted for over 30 years. She then spent the next several years working at Uniroyal. Marie and Wayland accumulated many memories and miles wintering in south Texas in their travel trailer. Marie enjoyed gardening and was known to have a big vegetable garden each year. She also enjoyed preparing big meals for her family. In her spare time she would do quilting, sew dresses for her granddaughters, and do arts & crafts. But her favorite thing in the world was spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church and a devout Christian woman. Marie lived a quiet life of devotion to family.
She is survived by her son, Steve Watson and wife Denise; daughter, Janet Biddick and husband, Matt; grandchildren: John Owens, Ashley Watson, Emily Cahill, Drew Mierva and Morgan Kaleiwahea; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Pallbearers will be: Matt Biddick, Nick Cahill, Larry Case, Parish Kaleiwahea, Jim Michael, and John Owens. Honorary bearers will be: John Butanda, Zach Mierva, and Zachary Owens.
