Joyce Alleen Aaron

(20 Dec 1923 - 22 Jul 2016)

Joyce Alleen Aaron Plumb, 92, entered into eternal peace with her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 22, 2016.
Joyce was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Lytle to Louis "Luke" and Effie Aaron. She graduated from Lytle High School in 1940 where she was a drum majorette and active in school activities. She was married to William E. "Bill" Plumb on Dec. 31, 1942. Their marriage was a beautiful example of loving devotion for 66 years. She was a dedicated and supportive wife and mother following her husband through his 24 years of service in the Air Force and his many assignments; which included living in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Ohio, and lastly Louisiana before returning home to Texas. Her strength of character was demonstrated by her ability to raise her three children while her husband was serving his country abroad. Bill and Joyce were charter members of Central Christian Church in Fort Worth. After her husband retired as an Air Force officer, she continued to support his next career which culminated as executive vice president in the savings and loan industry. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, garden club, Opti-Mrs. Club and every Friday night dining with entertainment at the Petroleum Club. In recent years, she stayed busy with activities at Broadway Plaza Cityview. Her greatest joys in life during her latter years were her family and her great-grandchildren. She was an exemplary model of faith, grace, love, and a life well lived. With her loving nature and gracious style, Joyce will always be remembered fondly. The family wishes to recognize VITAS Hospice and the loyal staff at Broadway Plaza Cityview for their valuable service.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; parents, Effie and Luke Aaron; sister, Genevieve Raschke; infant granddaughter, Cara; and great-grandson, Jonathan.
