Death of Mr. M. H. Wilson.
On Wednesday night of last week at his home at Chapel Hill occurred the death of Mr. M. H. Wilson. The deceased had been in bad health for some two or three years and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Wilson was a good farmer, a splendid citizen and was highly thought of by his neighbors and friends. The burial took place at the family burial ground at Chapel Hill, the services being conducted by his pastor Rev. Mr. Harris of the Methodist Church. A more extended notice will be published later. The Sun offers condolences to the bereaved.

December 3, 1902: Obituary.
Wilson – Brother Wilson was born Sept. 2, 1856, and died Nov. 5, 1902.
During the acquaintance of the writer with Brother Wilson, which was about a year, during his last days, he impressed us a man deeply pious. He was a faithful member of the M. E. Church, South, which he joined when about eighteen years old – his father was a trustee and steward in the church, which mantle fell on his son. He taking up the work remained trustee until death, falling with the harness on, and truly in heart he was steward, but for two years had been unable to act. He was ever anxious about the church and a liberal contributor to her support.
One said to the writer, that he helped many a man over hard places that the world knew nothing of, and truly he was a big-hearted fellow. Not only by the church will he be missed, but by the community. The last time the writer made a pastoral call, when he was conscious, although he could not speak, he kept motioning his hand until we went to prayer. He certainly kept Christ in front of everything in this world. We would point the bereaved ones to Him who is able to heal the broken heart and bind up every wound, and pray that we may meet him in Heaven.
- E. H. Harris.
