Mrs. Cotney passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on October 26, 1925 in Tallapoosa Co., AL to William Allen Hamby and Exa Nolen Hamby. She was a member of Daviston Baptist Church, where she was once the church clerk and managed the cemetery fund.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Williams, Leigh Calk (Mark); son, William B. Cotney, Jr (Debbie); grandchilden, William B. Cotney, III, Robert Cotney , Robbie Calk; sister, Nora Lee Pemberton; brother, William "Billy" Hamby (Betty Ann) of Daviston; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Baron Cotney, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, the fanily requests that memorial contributions be given to the Daviston Baaptist Church Building Find, 211 Church St., Daviston, AL 36256.
