Individual Details

Louis Antone Wilson

(3 Jul 1910 - 18 Jan 1950)

Louis Antone Wilson, AKA Louie. He was a Bantam weight boxer of some notoriety. He was known as "Pee Wee Wilson". I found a great article from Feb. 3, 1932 in the Kansas City Star. It even has his picture. The jest was that Pee Wee of Detroit would get a 2nd chance at Tommy Maroon in an 8-round special event. He floored Maroon in the first round at their previous bout. However, since that fight, Louie fractured his left arm in his final Detroit fight. He came to KC to live with his brother Leonard at the Woolf farm while he healed. He was hoping for a comeback but I don't think it happened. He had a 3-year career and they called him a crowd-pleaser.
