Edith Ramona Brooks passed away August 14, 2012 in Wichita Falls. Services were held on August 18 at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel and internment to place at the Jacksboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks was born Edith Ramona Kessler on March 6, 1934 in Jacksboro. She was the third child, second daughter, of Earl and Addie Ruth Atkinson Kessler. She attended schools in Jacksboro and attended junior college in Sacramento, CA. Ramona married Donald Stratton in Sacramento, CA. They had one son, Blake Stratton. She was a very successful real estate broker in Los Angeles, CA. Ramona married Miles Brooks in Los Angeles. She and her son Blake returned to Jacksboro in 1991 to care for her mother, Addie Ruth Kuykendall. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Jacksboro and the Eastern Star. Ramona loved to travel and visited Europe, Russia and the Hawaiian Islands.
She was preceded in death by her son Blake Stratton, husbands Donald Stratton and Miles Brooks and brother Earl Lee "Bud" Kessler, Jr. She is survived by her grandsons Manual Stratton, Brian Stratton, great-grandson Cason Stratton of Jacksboro, sister Shirley Stein of Bakersfield, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a friendly and loving person who will be missed by all.
