Mrs. Mattie Rogers, a well known resident of Monticello, Ky., passed away at 6:10 am, Friday, September 16th in the Monticello clinic after a brief illness.
Mrs. Rogers, 84, formerly of Clinton County, had been a resident of Wayne County for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Monticello and had remained faithful in attendance as long as her health permitted. She had been a member of the Eastern Star for 66 years.
Survivors include three sons, Othal and Haskel Rogers, Monticello, and Carmel Rogers, Akron, Ohio; one brother, Oakley Bertram, Susie, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Her husband, Wilburn Raymond Rogers, and an infant daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18th at the First Baptist Church in Monticello with the Rev. Joseph Nickell and the Rev. Isaac Hucaby officiating. Music was provided by two of Mrs. Rogers grandchildren, Mrs. Dale Simms and Glenn Edwin Rogers, accompanied by Mary Ann Hucaby at the organ. Burial was at the Beech Bottom Cemetery in Clinton County. Richard Lee Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Dennis Bertram Glenn Rogers, Robert Milton Eads, Lloyd Tatum, Dale Simms, and Edward Vanhook.

Rogers, Jr., Mason, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Carmel Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Edwin Rogers, Peggy and Glenn, Akron, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Vanhook and Melany, Lexington, Ky., Ray Rogers, Louisville, Ky., Mr. and Mrs. James H. Pennicuif, Mrs. H. C. Rogers, and Mrs. Wendell Selvidge, Albany, Ky.; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hopper, Berea, Ky.
