Ammon Paul Hatch Sr.

Ammon Paul Hatch, 100; of Chesterfield, Idaho passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 in Mesa, Arizona. 
Paul was born on September 29, 1909 in Hatch, Idaho the son of Ammon Call and Jennie Paul Hatch. 
He lived in the Chesterfield valley he entire life. He spent a few winters in Melville, Utah and also in his home in Mesa, Arizona. 
Paul married Phyllis Louise Lee on October 29, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away in June 24, 1999. 
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had served as Bishop of the Chesterfield Ward for 11.5 years. In 1978 to 1979 he and his wife served a mission for the church in Southern England. He served in the Logan Temple for 11 years. 
He was a rancher and farmer. He loved the soil, cattle and his horses. He was President of the Chesterfield Land and Livestock Association and the director of the Chesterfield Canal and Reservoir Co. He supported and enjoyed working at the Historic Chesterfield Townsite for many years. 
He loved horses and his family. He enjoyed reading and his daily swim. He also enjoyed playing in a shuffleboard league in Arizona. 
He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Ammon Paul Hatch Jr. of Chesterfield, ID; Gary Lee and LaRae Hatch of Chesterfield, ID; Kareen Crockett of Chesterfield, ID; and LaPreal and Wayne Perkins of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 104 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren and one brother Joseph and Sharon Hatch of Salt Lake City, UT; and one sister-in-law Connie Hatch of Logan, UT. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Louise; a daughter Gaylie Bradley, a daughter-in-law Audrey Hatch and a son-in-law Lee Crockett. 
Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Chesterfield LDS Ward Chapel. The family will meet with friends on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Chesterfield Cemetery.
