Mrs. Laura Ellis Greer, 79, Anna. Services Wednesday afternoon at Anna, the Rev. R. I. Cowan officiating. Survivors, daughters, Mrs. George M. Walker, Mrs. James McMahan, Mrs. Herman Rutherford, Mrs. Lee Mitchell, and Mrs W. N. Ellis; sons, T. E., W. B., and Dr. Baxter D. Greer; brother J. M. Ellis, 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Interment in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
The John & Laura Ellis Greer home, at 501 N. Riggins, is described as a "historic home" in the book "The Spark that Ignited the Town of Anna."
