Lawrence Sterling Thees Sr.

Mr. Thees, who started with what was then the General Electric‐Edison Lamp Works as a mail boy in 1916, retired from RCA eight years ago.
He was also a director of the General Components Corpora tion. In 1964, Mr. Thees was appointed to the New Jersey Economic Stabilization Board.
He is survived by his widow, the former Ethel Ballmeyer; a son, Lawrence S. Jr., and a daughter, Mrs. Paul M. Hughes.
Lawrence S. Thees, 70, of 400 Crescent Parkway, a former vice president of RCA, Harrison, died yesterday at home. Mr. Thees retired eight years ago. He was born in Harrison, and lived here 33 years. Mr. Thees was a member of the St. Mark's R. C. Church, Sea Girt. Mr. Thees also was a member of the Spring Lake Heights Golf and Country Club, Spring Lake. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel Bolmeyer Thees; a son, Lawrence S. Jr., of North Caldwell; a daughter, Mrs. Paul M. Hughes, London, England; two brothers, Adrian, of Harrison, and Nicholas, of Kearny; a sister, Mrs. Robert Nagle, Spring Lake Heights, and four grandchildren. The O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, is in charge of the arrangements.
